Over the last few months, karaoke at Wing Nutz has had a few less people than normal. Finals, Holidays, Vacations, and other random events have left us with maybe 20-30 less people per week... the shows were still Rocking, but just didn't have all the same energy we have been used to. This past couple weeks have been AWESOME!!! We got the giant crowds back and we have updated some of the equipment that we have wanted to get. We now have a full wireless mic system that goes throughout the whole restaurant, and tripping over cables is a thing of the past. We also have a video splitter that puts the video to the back two screens behind the singer, so that both screens behind the singer will have the words / music videos. Most people don't expect to have music videos at their karaoke event, but we definetly do!!! we started out in karaoke as DJ's, so show quality and seamless singer transitioning is one of the most important things for us. That is one thing that sets us apart from other karaoke shows, and it is pretty evident when going to other karaoke places. Remember - Karaoke Shows Every Week! Tuesdays - Pizza Pie Cafe (Provo) & The Deerhunter Pub Wednesdays - Wing Nutz (Orem) Thursdays - Pizza Pie Cafe (Logan) Saturdays - Gurus Cafe (Provo)

So last week at the Wing Nutz Karaoke show, we found out that one of the servers there had a massive fire at her home the previous weekend and she lost EVERYTHING. She literally had the clothes on her back. ( I saw pictures of her house after the fire... there was not one thing salvagable) She even lost 2 brand new puppies she recently got, and after seeing their pictures, I was even more heart broken for her. We decided to take up a collection of spare money for the evening and promised to match every penny that was donated. We ended getting about $100 from the crowd, and were grateful for every penny. The karaoke crowd in Orem is seriously one of the best I have ever associated myself with, and to think that people were so generous in a time of need makes me feel good inside. Wing Nutz and Rock The Mic Entertainment sincerely thank you all for your donations during this sad time. We know that life moves on, but having some help along the way makes things move on a lot easier.
I actually really felt for the girl, being that the childhood house I grew up in was victim to arson almost 2 years ago. I didn't live there at the time, and had most of my stuff out of there, but my father almost everything. He is still in the process of rebuilding, but hopefully it will be done soon, and after seeing the plans and what has happened, it is going to be better in the end. |
