Country is not a kind of music that is going away any time soon. We did a little research and found a list compiled of the Top 500 Country Songs of All Time. It seems a little dated, but we decided we would like to share it with y'all, hopefully giving you an idea of something you may want to sing at one of our shows. Enjoy!

Is not everyday that you get to be a part of an event that is as great as this one! We were invited by this beautiful couple to join them with their wedding party the night before their big day and entertain a group full of party hard peeps that were anything but dull. We have never had more fun at a wedding party in all the years we have been Rocking The Mic. This was a destination wedding they had always dreamed about in Park City, and most of the guests had never been to our grandiose mountains before. It was at the height of Spring in Utah, and you couldn't of asked for a more perfect evening at the High Point Distillery on Historic Main Street. The couple had a very special presentation that included highlighting most of the guests in attendance, and then we mode on to party the night away. Despite Utah's below average drinking laws and alcohol content, having the event inside a distillery was an incredible recipe for a tremendous party! As soon as possible for singers took the stage, we were off and running. We had oldies and new hits, Johnny Cash to Guns 'N' Roses. The party kept on going and going until the shuttles arrived to take everyone back to their hotel. In the course of history, there has been a lot of wedding parties... but this one was the best you could have asked for. Quaint, Energetic, Heartfelt, and Just Plain Fun! Thanks, and Congratulations to the now Mr. & Mrs. We were ecstatic to be a part of your wedding! This is a good review, mostly for Pizza Pie Cafe in Logan... but all in all, any reviews are good reviews! Excited to be Rocking The Mic every single Thursday night at Pizza Pie Cafe in Logan! It has been reviewed as being the best karaoke show in Logan, and potentially the entire state! If you have never joined us in our weekly worship of the Karaoke God's, then you should probably come up and check it out. Lots of pleased customers! http://foodio54.com/restaurant/Logan-UT/ee2d5/Pizza-Pie-Cafe I got an old beater 1999 Honda Civic. Picked it up for cheap and have been driving it the last year... it is honestly the best car I have owned. I put tons of miles on it, kept up with all the oil changes, and have absolutely LOVED the gas milage on it. I will probably always consider buying a Honda before I buy any other brand of car. Recently, the American car companies have been fighting to get the loyalty back in their court. It has been a hard battle when spending a few thousand more can get you a Japanese imported forever-running Honda, Toyota, or Subaru. They get better gas milage, have fewer problems, and are common enough that parts are comparable in price to the local ones. (all the littler parts are manufactured in China anyway) Well, one American Car has my attention... THE NEW CHEVY VOLT - I think most of is saw at least one of their commercials during the Super Bowl; and honestly, the car looked a little cool and a little weird all at the same time. I do remember GM getting a bailout and I do remember the fuss that we all shared when Detroit canned thousands of people during the economic hardships we faced over the last couple years, but I also remembered the cool cars that GM was coming out with and how much I like Chevy Trucks and Cadillac Escalades. In any case, I saw a newer Volt driving down the freeway and I thought to myself "You should look into that." Today I looked at it and found out that instead of using an engine to power the car, it actually uses a Battery System with a small gasoline powered generator. It runs up to 35 miles on a charge and then has enough gas to run it a few hundred miles on a tank using the generator. If you get the charger for your house, then it only takes about 4 hours to charge, without being about 10 hours to fill up the batteries. With it's sleek style and aerodynamic body, it could seriously take over the Prius as reigning champ for hybrids. I have always been interested in alternative fuels, and the recent raise in gasoline prices is making me re-think what I need to do to save my wallet from the Ever-Wideneing Black Hole that my gas tank makes in the wallet, and also how I can cut down on my fossil fuel consumption to save the world one day at a time. Honestly, American's use way to much fossil fuels, including Natural Gas, Coal, and Gasoline. I think getting a newer hybrid should be the direction I move towards in the future, and my next car could just be the New Chevy Volt. I think it could be a great vehicle to show that our DJ company is committed to saving the environment. Check It out at: http://www.chevrolet.com/volt-electric-car/ Yo Karaoke People... I am approached constantly by people in the area that LOVE the karaoke shows out at Pizza Pie Cafe (both in Logan and in Provo). The atmosphere is super high-energy and the people make it a fun time every week. I want to take a moment and boast about the food at Pizza Pie Cafe. Most of us have been to a pizza buffet before and most of us try to avoid them like the plague... this is not the case with PPC. I can honestly say that I crave some of the food there. They have all-you-can-eat Pizza, Pasta and Salad, and I must say that you will not be disappointed with your visit. All the dough is made from scratch in giant Hobart mixers in the kitchens, then used in their pizza and cookie dough for their "Cookie Monster" they bring to your table. This is a concoction of a giant cookie topped with ice cream, whip cream, and drizzled with chocolate/carmel syrup. It is an add on, but it will feed about 10 people and is something that you will be craving in your dreams for months to come. The dessert pizzas consist of their same chewy, delicious pizza dough and then has a variety of sauces and toppings. They have Apple, Peach, Oreo, Raspberry, and an awesome chocolate/cookie dough pizza. Come on down for some karaoke and $5 pizza buffet. It is the best deal in town and you will not be disappointed. Hobart Mixer that they use for making doughIf you have not been out to one of our karaoke shows recently, we are formally inviting you to check out all the things that make us the Best Karaoke In The Wasatch Front! We have recently bought new equipment to make your singing experience that much more enjoyable. New Items include: - 2 Wireless Mics (great for walking around the room and singing duets) - Multiple Screens (we have up to 4 screens with the lyrics at every show) - Newer Music (we purchase new stuff a couple times a week!) - Full Music Video Setup (we have music videos between singers) - Complete Digital Database (for easy searches) Karaoke Show Schedule: Tuesdays - Pizza Pie Cafe' - Provo, UT - Deerhunter Pub & Grill Wednesdays - Wing Nutz - Orem, UT Thursdays - Pizza Pie Cafe' - Logan, UT Saturdays - Gurus Cafe' - Provo, UT Just got a newer Macbook Pro from last year. Paid about $1,100 with a newer hard drive, and newer RAM. I must say, the thing is blazing!!! I have not had any problems with it so far (as is the case with every Mac i have owned) and I can honestly say I know it is going to be a great laptop for me. I would like to write a little concerning the Magnificent Seagate Hard Drive I was able to put inside of this beast. While I do wish they made some 7200rpm Terabyte 2.5" Hard Drives, I will have to make due with the 750 GB version for now. It is specifically a 750 GB 7200 RPM Seagate Momentus XL and the cool thing about this hard drive is that it has a section in it of NAND Flash Ram, meaning that part of the drive is working off an instant drive that makes everything that I use most often pull up quickly. From power button to on my Gmail, I was clocking it at about 30 seconds, which is pretty darn fast if you are using a spindled drive! Where it will really pay off is in Video Mixing, which I do pretty often. I have already noticed the improved lag time of loading a video in Serato and Virtual DJ, but I have also noticed significant less lag in even basic functions too. Loading up photoshop, playing games, loading up webpages, streaming videos... it has all been all enhanced by a newer computer.
Now, I could have gone out and bought a BRAND-NEW, TOP OF THE LINE MONSTER QUAD-CORE MACBOOK PRO... but this will do me for now. I am really looking forward to The Newer Macbook Pros that come without disc drives, double SSD's, quad-core processors, thunderbolt connectivity, up to 32gb of RAM and are the relative thickness of the current Macbook Airs.... the time is coming my friends. I will be getting one of those very soon after they are released and will pay full price because of how awesome they will be. Maybe they will even have some touch screen interfaces too like a giant iPad Screen!!! That will be the day. If you want to come see my new laptop, just click above on Schedule and let me know what you think! Over the last few months, karaoke at Wing Nutz has had a few less people than normal. Finals, Holidays, Vacations, and other random events have left us with maybe 20-30 less people per week... the shows were still Rocking, but just didn't have all the same energy we have been used to. This past couple weeks have been AWESOME!!! We got the giant crowds back and we have updated some of the equipment that we have wanted to get. We now have a full wireless mic system that goes throughout the whole restaurant, and tripping over cables is a thing of the past. We also have a video splitter that puts the video to the back two screens behind the singer, so that both screens behind the singer will have the words / music videos. Most people don't expect to have music videos at their karaoke event, but we definetly do!!! we started out in karaoke as DJ's, so show quality and seamless singer transitioning is one of the most important things for us. That is one thing that sets us apart from other karaoke shows, and it is pretty evident when going to other karaoke places. Remember - Karaoke Shows Every Week! Tuesdays - Pizza Pie Cafe (Provo) & The Deerhunter Pub Wednesdays - Wing Nutz (Orem) Thursdays - Pizza Pie Cafe (Logan) Saturdays - Gurus Cafe (Provo) This is one video from our awesome time at Pizza Pie Cafe in Logan! Every Thursday Night!!!
Just got the news that the famous singer, actress, and songwriter Whitney Houston died at age 48. What terrible news! I guess it was in relation to drugs, but honestly, we lost one of the best. I grew up listening to her because my mom loved her voice, and she was very popular during my childhood. I think the movie "The Bodyguard" had her plastered all over everywhere and I probably listened to "I Will Always Love You" a few hundred times before I was 10 years old. Although we don't play her stuff too often, one of my staple songs I use for dances is "I Wanna Dance With Somebody." I have a few different versions and it always hits the dance floor. It is super sad to hear about her death, especially so young and in relation to drugs and alcohol addiction. This is a serious problem in our country, and because of the money, power and accessibility of drugs in the lifestyle of people in the entertainment industry, we lose far more from there than we should. Rest In Peace Whitney Houston. Fox New Article CNN Article |
